Secret Garden — each plant, a story

The short version. Secret Garden is built to keep your private life private. There is no account, no server, and no analytics. Everything you enter stays on your device. The developer never sees, collects, receives, or shares any of your data.

1. What this policy covers

This policy applies to the Secret Garden mobile application (“the app”) for iOS and Android, published by Lacoma Studio (“the developer”, “we”). It explains what the app does — and, more importantly, does not do — with your information.

2. What the app stores

The app lets you privately record details about personal connections — for example aliases, dates, notes, ratings, tags, and photos. All of this information:

is stored only in the app’s private storage on your own device;
is never transmitted off your device;
is never sent to the developer or to any third party.

There is no cloud, no online account, and no synchronisation between devices.

3. Data we collect: none

The developer collects no personal data whatsoever. The app:

makes no network connections to send your content anywhere;
contains no analytics, tracking, advertising, or telemetry;
uses no cookies and no advertising identifiers.

4. Permissions the app uses

Photos / media — requested only when you choose to attach a photo to an entry. Photos you pick are copied into the app’s private storage. The app does not browse, upload, or scan your photo library.
Biometric unlock (Face ID / Touch ID / fingerprint) — optional, used only to unlock the app locally. Biometric data is handled entirely by your device’s operating system; the app never receives or stores it.

The app does not request your location, does not use the camera for continuous capture, and needs no network permission for its core features. Any location you enter is a text label you type yourself, not a GPS reading.

5. How your data is protected

Your entries live in the app’s sandboxed storage, isolated from other apps on your device.
You can lock the app with a PIN and/or biometrics. If you set a PIN, only a one-way cryptographic hash of it is kept in your device’s secure storage — the PIN itself is never saved.
Because nothing is ever uploaded, there is no server that could be breached and no online copy of your data to leak.

6. Exporting your data

The app lets you export your data (for example, to a spreadsheet file) at your own initiative. Once you export a file and choose where to save or send it, that file leaves the app’s protection and is under your control — please handle and store it carefully.

7. Contacting the developer

If you email the developer — for example, to report a bug — your message and email address are processed by the developer’s email provider solely to reply to you. This is the only circumstance in which any information reaches the developer, and only because you chose to send it. Your message is not used for any other purpose.

8. Age requirement

Secret Garden is intended for adults (18+) and includes themes unsuitable for children. Please do not use the app if you are below the age of majority in your jurisdiction.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a new “last updated” date.
